Michaele Blakely farms under the farm name, Growing Things, in Carnation, where for years she has produced some of the best eggs and chickens around. She has been a pioneer in pastured egg and poultry production locally, not to mention a champion and advocate for family farms and farmers markets here. Did you know that before the farmers at Fremont Sunday Market moved to Ballard some ten years ago, Michaele managed the farmers market component of the Fremont Market. She has served on the King County Agriculture Commission, the King County Farmers Market Health Regulation Task Force, and numerous statewide boards serving family farms and farmers markets.

Blakely also grows a wide variety of vegetables and greens. She is famous for her beautiful baby summer squash, and she even makes jams and soaps. She is a farmer who likes to do it all. So stop by and visit Michaele, who sets up mid-market on the sidewalk side, say hi, thank you, and try out some of those amazing eggs.
